Parents and volunteers spend day building outdoor classroom at Swift School [Video]

BON SECOUR, Ala. (WALA) – Students at one Baldwin County elementary school will soon have a brand-new outdoor classroom. After months of planning, Swift School in Bon Secour has partnered with state agencies and supporters in the community to make it happen. It took money, but it also took a lot of hard work.

Thanks to generous donations of time and money, the oldest school in Baldwin County will be getting something new and it’s something that every student here can relate to. You might say Swift School is going back to its roots, figuratively and literally. Established in 1920, it’s hard to believe a day passed when early students didn’t do some learning outside in the fresh air. That will now be the case again.
