Packed house as Henderson County Fiscal Court considered 2-year moratorium on new solar farms | News [Video]

HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) —Tuesday’s Fiscal Court workshop in Henderson County was not a typical meeting. The room was packed, with community members eager to hear the discussions about renewable energy projects that could shape the future of the county.

The meeting centered around discussions about implementing a two-year moratorium on new solar farm permits and the broader impact of green energy projects in the county. 

Many in attendance expressed their support for the moratorium. 

44News spoke with Resident, James Franks, on why he believes they should have a moratorium.

“These energy projects haven’t created any jobs locally; these are out of town folks, but at the end of the day they’re still jobs. I think that we’ve seen the issues that have been created by them, to our local infrastructure, to the safety of the community. …
