Ozarks-area relief organizations responding to Hurricane Milton [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3)—Hurricane Milton is hitting Florida’s Gulf Coast nearly a week after Hurricane Helene. As the storm nears, many communities are just beginning the cleanup process from the first storm.

Relief organizations are on the ground, ready to help. Springfield-based Convoy of Hope already has a team in the Tampa, Fla., area ahead of Milton’s arrival as they prepare to welcome a supply truck.

“This storm season, when it comes to hurricanes, has been very unique,” said Ethan Forhetz, V.P. public engagement, Convoy of Hope. “At the beginning, they said that it was going to be a very busy, active season. And then we went two or three weeks with the quietest that it had been in 50 years.”
