(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The outgoing Cook County State’s Attorney is speaking about the ongoing plague of gun violence following last week’s shooting death of a Chicago Police Officer.
Kim Foxx stood with police and Mayor Johnson when charges were announced in the South side shooting death of Chicago Police Officer Enrique Martinez.
Foxx, who has faced criticism for not doing enough to combat crime, said Martinez’s murder again brings up a fact that cannot be ignored.
“I have very few of these press conferences left. Let me say the thing that needs to be said that we all know in this room. We have an over proliferation of guns in the city of Chicago and the County of Cook,” Foxx said.
