On Christmas Eve, over 200 people gathered at St Mary Magdalene Church, Dunton, for an outdoor nativity service held in the Community Garden’s open barn. The barn was transformed into a stable setting for Bethlehem, featuring a hand-crafted manger made by a local farmer. The event brought together families from Dunton and beyond to celebrate the Christmas story.
Children from Dunton C of E Junior School and Wrestlingworth C of E Infant School, alongside others from the local community, played key roles in retelling the story of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, kings, angels, and animals making their journey to Bethlehem.
The Rector of Dunton with Wrestlingworth and Eyeworth, the Revd Liz Lavelle, spoke about the strong connection between the church and the Community Garden:
