READING, Pa. – In the wake of three fires in the Reading area over the past two days, Mayor Eddie Moran has released a statement extending his condolences. 

On Monday, a fire at a rowhome in the 500 block of South 15 1/2 Street in Reading left one person dead, according to the Reading fire department. 

Early Tuesday morning, a fire was reported on the 500 block of Walnut Street in Reading, according to officials. 

The Berks County Coroner was at the scene of the fire, which took place in an apartment building.
