Oregon teen builds sanctuary for strays, seeks community support [Video]

SWEET HOME, Ore. — A Sweet Home teenager who has dedicated years to rescuing and caring for neglected animals hopes the community can help keep her dream alive.

Faith Scott, 16, has spent the last three years raising money for animals in need.

“It’s important to me because there are so many stray animals out there and they are being euthanized on a daily basis,” Scott said. “And it’s not fair.”

Scott has received donations from the community to help pay for vaccines, spay and neuter procedures, dewormer and flea treatments. She takes the donations directly to the Sweet Home Veterinary Clinic or uses the funds to buy dog and cat food and other necessities.
