OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha Police Department Chief Todd Schmaderer has written a book on policing and leadership.
According to Monday’s news release from a city staffer, the book, titled “Synergy of Influence,” is intended to be a nonpartisan examination of how the chief’s style of leadership and media relations shapes public perception and policy in the City of Omaha.
“His leadership has consistently been a source of strength and stability for Omaha, earning him a respected voice on the national stage,” the release states.
The book draws from Schmaderer’s 12 years as OPD Chief, from investigations of serial killers; the policing of civil unrest and public corruption in Omaha; “high-profile” in-custody deaths; and the loss of officers in the line of duty.
According to the news release, Chief Schmaderer looks to leverage the book, written in collaboration with the UNO School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, into a UNO course on “Leadership, Law Enforcement, and the Media” …
