OPD and City of Odessa report on closures due to flooding [Video]

OPD is urging residents to exercise caution when traveling, as roads are expected to remain hazardous for the next few days.

ODESSA, Texas — The Odessa Police Department reported that they handled approximately 23 assist motorist calls on Monday, while the Odessa Fire Rescue responded to around 26 high water rescue calls, according to a press release from OPD.

OPD is urging residents to exercise caution when traveling, as roads are expected to remain hazardous for the next couple days. OPD is further advising drivers to reduce their speed, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and allow extra time to reach their destinations.

The following areas were included in the press release as extreme caution areas:

  • Charles Walker and Yukon
  • University and Tom Green
  • 10th Street (from Jackson to Adams)
  • Dixie (between 52nd and University)
  • Service roads for both I-20 and Business I-20
