One man was taken to the hospital from the scene, while two others walked into a local hospital. One of those victims later died from his injuries.
PORTSMOUTH, Va. — One of three people who were shot Sunday afternoon in Portsmouth has died.
Portsmouth police said officers were called to the 2300 block of Jefferson Street around 5:30 p.m. They arrived to find one man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
At around that same time, two other men walked into a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. One of those walk-in gunshot victims, 44-year-old Danyelle Akoya Lee, later died from his injuries.
The shooting remains under investigation, and police have not identified any possible suspects or motive.
