PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Murdoch Ave. in Parkersburg.
At approximately 7:02 p.m., the vehicle was traveling north towards Vienna when the accident occurred. At the same time, a pedestrian was attempting to cross Murdoch Ave. just south of West Virginia Ave.
According to the press release from the Parkersburg Police Department, the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Wood County Crash Team is currently investigating the accident.
The name of the driver has not been released due to the investigation. The name of the pedestrian will be released once contact has been made with the next of kin.
