ROCHESTER, Minn. – As most parents know, installing a car seat properly is not an easy task. That’s why Olmsted County Public Health is holding a free car seat clinic at Graham Park’s Crawford Hall building on Wednesday, August 21st at 2:30 p.m.
For the past two days, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been teaching Olmsted County technicians how to install child safety seats in rear-facing, front-facing configurations, as well as booster seats.
Olmsted County Public Health Passenger Safety Technician Dana Romanowski says having car seats installed properly can be life saving.
“Statistics tell us that if car seats are installed properly we have a better chance of children surviving a car crash,” said Romanowski. “So four out of five car seats are not installed properly at this time.”
