Ollie Watkins has confirmed his engagement to girlfriend Ellie Alderson after proposing in Italy on Monday. 

The England striker, 28, has been in a relationship with interior designer Ellie, also 28, since 2018 and she took to social media to reveal they are set to tie the knot.

She told Instagram followers: ‘Special night in lake como with my fiancé… ahhhh sooo happy.’ [sic] 

Ellie shared the happy news alongside a series of romantic snaps from their trip to Lake Como in Italy, a getaway that comes after England’s heartbreak in the Euros.

In the first black-and-white picture, Ollie was down on one knee to Ellie, both of them having opted for crisp white outfits.
