Olive + Oak, Perennial On Lockwood put student recipes on the menu [Video]

The desserts are featured from Dec. 16 to Jan. 5 on the menus, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Webster Groves School District Foundation.

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. — This month, Olive + Oak and Perennial on Lockwood are teaming up with the Webster Groves School District to feature student-created desserts until Jan. 5.

Kelsi Wright, a pastry chef for Olive + Oak along with other staff had the students test their recipes and make final tweaks before they’re served to guests.

“What an amazing way to like immerse myself in the community, bring students here and get creative ideas,” Wright said.

Out of dozens of submissions, two recipes were selected to be featured at the restaurants. 

Katie Dirks and Ava Marsh are seniors at Webster Groves High School will tell you proudly what they’ve created.

“Salted tahini chocolate chip skillet with date caramel and vanilla ice cream,” Dirks said.
