Ole Miss student among injured in New Orleans terror attack [Video]

NEW ORLEANS (WMC) – An Ole Miss student was among the dozens injured in a terror attack in New Orleans.

Chancellor Glenn Boyce announced the student was critically injured in the attack and is receiving medical care.

Boyce says he has spoken to the student’s mother and extended the university’s support.

“We join the New Orleans community in grief. As we begin the new year with heavy hearts, let us hold our injured student, their family, the first responders and all those affected by this tragic event close in our thoughts and prayers,” Boyce wrote.

Just hours after ringing in the New Year, tragedy struck in the heart of New Orleans’s most prominent tourist center when a pickup truck driver intentionally plowed into a crowd on Bourbon Street, leaving 15 people dead and dozens injured in what federal authorities are now investigating as an act of terrorism.
