Old Town, Maine hosts charitable event for ‘Christmas in July’ [Video]

Bring a food donation for the Caring Community Cupboard, enjoy a screening of “The Grinch” along the Penobscot River, and indulge in popcorn and s’mores this Friday.

OLD TOWN, Maine — Christmas in July is upon us and the city of Old Town is making merry, with an entertaining charitable event.

This Friday Mainers near and far are welcome to enjoy a screening of “The Grinch” along the banks of the Penobscot River, while indulging in delicious popcorn and s’mores. Hosted by the city and Downtown Old Town (DTOT), these event organizers encourage guests to bring a donation for the local food pantry.

DTOT member and resident Justin Russell said Cub Scout Pack 76 will collect non-perishable food items at the event for the Caring Community Cupboard and hand out free popsicles while supplies last.
