Old Glory Honor Flights Pulling For Honor makes a return to Appleton Airport [Video]

Greenville, Wis. (WBAY) – Hundreds of people took part in a major fundraiser hosted by Old Glory Honor Flight on Saturday to support veterans in the program.

Around 600 people from across the Fox Valley community came to the Appleton Flight Center to witness the “Pulling for Honor” competition, aiming to raise over $150,000.

It looked like a tug of war, as teams of 20 people each worked to pull a FedEx Cargo plane with all their might in a competition for charity.

“It’s something that we really enjoy,” said Terri Marquardt, a lab technician with Team Encapsys. “We have a lot of fun. We’re a bunch of scientists, but we all enjoy this. We have a great time at it. It’s a great cause, and we’re happy to support it.”

That cause is a free trip to Washington D.C. so veterans can witness the memorials made in their honor.
