Old Buc-ee’s location in Luling catches fire during demolition [Video]

The cause of the fire is not yet known. The public has been asked to avoid the area.

Buc-ee’s opened a brand new location next door to the original gas station just three weeks ago, and since then, crews have been doing demolition at the old site. It was not immediately clear whether the demolition process led to the fire, according to a report from the Gonzales Inquirer.

No injuries have been reported. The area around Buc-ee’s was blocked off Monday, and people were asked not to turn into the store from Highway 183, the Inquirer reported.

Multiple fire departments responded to provide assistance, and they said that the fire was not expected to endanger the new Buc-ees location, which the company calls the world’s largest.

Buc-ee’s opened the original Luling travel center in 2003. It closed June 10, and the new location opened nearby the next morning.
