Okla. — A Muldrow woman who pleaded guilty to a non-violent drug offense was pardoned by President Joe Biden.

Shannan Rae Faulkner is one of 39 people pardoned by Biden on Thursday.

After serving her sentence, Faulkner furthered her education and currently works as a counselor and recovery coach with female trauma victims and people with disabilities.

Faulkner also volunteers with organizations working to prevent sexual assault and domestic violence.

In a press release, the White House said colleagues of Faulkner attest to her character and the impact she has made on those she helps.

It was also announced that Biden is commuting roughly 1,500 sentences, which makes it the largest single-day act of clemency in modern history, according to the AP.
