The event kicked off Friday evening with a special announcement from Chevron.
ODESSA, Texas — The Education Foundation of Odessa, in partnership with Odessa High School, hosted an extraordinary evening dedicated to science, education and the wonders of the night sky with their “Astronomer’s Dream” event Friday.
The highlight of the night? A rare six-planet alignment, viewable from the Odessa High School rooftop observatory.
Celeste Potter, executive director of the Education Foundation and an Odessa High School alumna, shared her excitement about the event and the opportunity it provides students.
“I’ve actually graduated from OHS, and I never even knew there was an observatory on this campus,” Potter said. “The fact that it’s been brought back to life and students are going to have the opportunity to go up to the observatory and look at six planets aligned in space is just an incredible opportunity.
