JUNCTION CITY, Ore. – Oaklea Middle School in Junction City has told families it will be giving students a space for them to process any emotions they may be feeling after the election.

Oaklea families received this notice about the school’s plans for after the election.

Oaklea families were told that on November 6, students will have a “safe, supervised classroom” to process any emotions they may have after the election, and trained staff would be there to maintain a respectful environment. Junction City superintendent Troy Stoops said this room falls in line with their overall goals as a district — things like partnerships, accountability, wonder, and support.
