Nueces County looks at possible work contract with Amistad Health [Video]

The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District termination date was originally set for April 1. County Commissioners voted for an extension to Sept. 30.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County is looking at securing medical services for their clinic located in the Calderon County Building in Robstown. This comes as the separation date of the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District quickly approaches. The date originally set for March 1, has been delayed to September 30.

Nueces County Judge Connie Scott said that a contract has been drafted between the county and Amistad Community Health Center, but nothing has been finalized. That decision will be made Wednesday during regularly scheduled commissioner’s court.

Scott said that the building is a vital resource to those in rural parts of Nueces County. 

“People can travel to it and it’s not such a hardship on them,” she said.
