Not in our neighborhood: Plaza Westport homeowners take on developers [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Homeowners in the Plaza Westport Community are saying “not in our neighborhood” when it comes to another high-rise apartment building going up overlooking their backyards. They fear they’re losing their community and investments they’ve dumped into their own properties.

“This is clearly encroachment,” Christina Boveri and her neighbors complained.

Boveri and others in the Plaza Westport community don’t recognize their neighborhood anymore.

“We have had enough, I’m trying not to get emotional,” Boveri said holding back tears, “but we just want the developers to do the right thing and respect us,”.

When you walk along the 4000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, the stretch where Boveri and her neighbors live is an R-6 zone. That means only single-family homes can be built.
