NORWOOD, Ohio (WXIX) – Norwood City Council members voted to send a proposed ordinance regarding Factory 52 back to the committee on Tuesday.
The ordinance would allow the company PLK, which owns Factory 52, to implement a 2% sales tax on food and beverages while establishing a new community authority (NCA).
Opponents of the proposal attended the meeting and voiced concerns about a private corporation collecting public tax funds. They also pointed to Factory 52’s continued development as a source of heavy traffic in the area.
Ultimately, those opposed repeated several times that they felt there should have been a formal town hall meeting to allow them to voice their concerns.
