Norton Health urges importance of health on Black Men’s Wellness Day | News from WDRB [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — On Saturday, North Healthcare urged the importance of health especially for Black men.

Black Men’s Wellness Day aims to empower individuals with knowledge and tools necessary to take charge of their health.

It was held at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center on West Muhammad Ali Boulevard. The event was dedicated to address health disparities in the black community.

There were health screenings, kids games and activities, and even a 5K run.

“I think health and wellness is one of the most important things in our community,” attendee Chris Redd said. “I think many times we take it for granted so being intentional and bring our community together, not only for our great event of fun, but also making sure we are maintaining our health.”

Several resources were also on hand and career opportunities at Norton West Louisville Hospital.
