Northside ISD student hit by car crossing Culebra Road [Video]

A 17-year-old Harlan High School student was hit by a vehicle while crossing Culebra Road, a road that’s been the subject of many danger warnings in the past.

SAN ANTONIO — Northside ISD has confirmed that a Harlan High School student was hit by a vehicle while crossing Culebra Road in front of the school on Friday.

Harlan High School Principal Rick Yzaguirre released a statement sharing the incident with the Harlan community.

“I can confirm that there was an accident and it did involve one of our students. The guardian of this individual has been notified and is with their child,” said Yzaguirre.

The district confirmed that the driver stopped immediately to render aid to the 17-year-old. The student did sustain injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
