Northern California AAPI leaders celebrate AAPI Heritage Month [Video]

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Each May we celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, also known as Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. 

ABC10 is sharing stories highlighting our local AANHPI community, past and present, who have enriched America’s history and culture and continue to contribute to society.

The 2024 theme for AANHPI Heritage Month is “Advancing Leaders through Innovation,” which pays homage to the visionaries and trailblazers who continue to influence our future. We spoke with five AAPI leaders across Northern California who shared how they show up for our diverse communities and make lasting contributions while navigating cultural and systemic barriers.
