North Star Honor Flight is open for business and ready to help veterans visit Washington D.C. | News [Video]

ADAMS, Minn.- North Star Honor Flight held a launch event at American Legion Post 146 on Wednesday, Aug. 21. 

The Adams based organization is a part of the National Honor Flight Network and is planning to provide two annual all expenses paid day trips to Washington D.C. for terminally ill veterans and veterans of World War Two, Vietnam and Korea in southeast Minnesota and northern Iowa. 

North Star’s board says the trips would come with medical supervision and wheelchair support to allow veterans to tour the nation’s capitol and its monuments dedicated to their sacrifices and achievements. 

Jill Klapperich, board president, says the organization’s biggest goal is to show support for veterans who didn’t receive as much support as they should have when they served. 

“Our entire goal is to give them an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives,” Klapperich said.
