North Sioux Citys City Council discusses upcoming special election, McCook Lake grading project [Video]

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KTIV) – A petition for a change to North Sioux City’s government got the required number of signatures, so it will get a vote in a special election in December.

On October 28th, the petition was received by North Sioux City’s City Hall.

It asks for a vote to change the structure of North Sioux City’s government from a 9-person city council to a 5-person at-large commission.

The election is scheduled for December 10th. The polling location is the North Sioux City Community Center.

Residents can vote from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on December 10th.

Grading Project

More than four months after record flooding damaged or destroyed dozens of homes in McCook Lake, South Dakota, leaders in North Sioux City talked about dirt work in the flood zone.

Monday night, Stockwell Engineering prepared a quote for grading and erosion control in different areas of McCook Lake.
