North Baton Rouge residents react to new mobile health clinic that offers prescription services, screenings [Video]

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — North Baton Rouge residents can now benefit from an Open Health Care mobile clinic at the Alsen St. Irma Lee Community Village.

Residents in the community are happy about the mobile clinic and said it will make an impact.

“We’re up here undeserved. We have no grocery store. We have no pharmacy. We have no physician’s office. Some of them in here do not have insurance. And this is a plus for the community,” said Bettie Jefferson, community advocate.

Merissa Braud, nurse practitioner at the Open Health Care Clinic and Kristy Mayes, chief development officer at the Open Health Care Clinic said the mobile clinic will make a monthly stop, offering many services.
