LODI, Calif. (WJW) — A woman has been charged after a baby was found dead on a street in California, the Lodi Police Department reported.
“An incident like this can be difficult and evoke a wide range of emotions,” the Lodi Police Department said in a Facebook post. “Not only does it affect our community but also our first responders, including our officers, dispatchers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.”
Triple shooting in Cleveland injures 3 people
Police were called to an area behind a mechanic shop just before noon last Thursday for reports of a baby who was alone. Upon arrival, Lodi police said they found the “abandoned” infant, whom was pronounced deceased.
Kathryn Copeland, 29 of Lodi, was later arrested and charged with “abandonment of the deceased newborn,” Lodi police said.
