FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – New Standard Academy held its first ever Peace Rally in Flint Sunday afternoon.
The rally was a partnership between the school and Flint Tik Tok Stars ‘Chris and Unk’.
This is after losing two students, 12- year- old Trinity Davis and 15-year-old Dom Ward to gun violence earlier this summer.
Rally organizers say the family friendly event was designed to provide more collaboration for students and their families and to bring the community together.
The event featured food trucks-, fun and games, family resources, music, vendors and special guest appearances from Flint Mayor Sheldon Neely, Flint Police Chief Terence Green and Krispy Life Kid.
