NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Live 5 News spoke one-on-one with the new North Charleston police chief for the first time since he became the top cop.
North Charleston Police Chief, Ron Camacho, spoke on a variety of topics including his goal to change the perception of crime in North Charleston.
“Sometimes it’s hard to fight that perception of crime but that’s my job. My job is to get out there and push out the information, push out the good things we do,” Camacho said.
Which starts with community engagement. Just two weeks on the job, North Charleston’s 11th police Chief has been busy.
“Listening to what the community presidents need, listening to what other community members need and formulating plans,” Camacho said.
