New Orleans residents living on Florida Avenue are concerned someone is going to get hurt on their street. Antonio Batiste reached out to the WDSU Road Patrol about a growing problem on Florida Avenue.”I’ve seen accidents, because the road is basically overgrown by grass,” Batiste said. “So it’s pushing cars into the next lane, which could cause a problem.”Batiste frequently travels along the thoroughfare, on the side of the Lowe’s Home Improvement store near the Elysian Fields Bridge.He says on overgrowth of grass and trees from a nearby lot is obstructing drivers view, making for a potentially dangerous ride along this busy thoroughfare.”This was a city lot, public works company … they used to clean the drains and keeps the streets clean.
