New Orleans celebrates 64th anniversary of public school desegregation [Video]

YESTERDAY THE CITY CELEBRATED THE 64TH ANNIVERSARY OF PUBLIC SCHOOL DESEGREGATION WITH THE NEW ORLEANS FOUR DAY PARADE. CERTAINLY A MILESTONE TO SEE ALL OF THAT HAPPEN YESTERDAY. WELL, TONIGHT, THE LEONA TATE FOUNDATION FOR CHANGE HOSTED A GALA TO FOLLOW UP THE GALA WAS HELD AT THE TEP CENTER. THERE WAS A SPECIAL MUSICAL PRESENTATION HIGHLIGHTING THE WORK OF THE NEW ORLEANS FOR SOME OF WDSU’S OWN ANCHORS AND MANAGEMENT ATTENDED. AS WDSU IS A PROUD, VISIONARY SPONSOR OF THE EVENT. IT WASN’T ALL JUST TUXEDOS AND BALL GOWNS, GALA GOERS WERE WELCOMED TO A STAGE PERFORMANCE TITLED 18 STEPS. THE JOURNEY TO JUSTICE IN EDUCATION, AS WELL AS ENTERTAINMENT FROM CLERK JAY KNIGHTON AND THE 4X4 CONNECTION BANDS. YEAH, I MEAN, WHAT AN EVENT.
