MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership’s MN online tool called MN CLiMAT offers any user a chance to see how climate change will impact Minnesota throughout the 21st century.
MN CLiMAT is free for anyone to utilize. Users start off by picking either counties, state boundaries, and nine other options to determine what area they want to research.
Next, website visitors select from three different climate scenarios and time periods to see how climate change will affect them. They will choose the severity of climate change by picking between intermediate, high, and very high emissions. Users will also decide between the mid, late, and end of the century.
Additionally, visitors can pick from 36 different variables, while choosing a time frame like a month in the year or growing season.
MCAP says the free online feature will help everyone tackle climate change individually.
