SPOKANE, Wash. — A new medically-supported respite facility is opening next week at the Westminster United Church of Christ in Spokane.
This facility will offer medically-supported care to help people with chronic or acute illness. It will have 30 beds and serve those experiencing homelessness in Spokane.
The city said this facility is part of its new navigation center and scattered site homeless response model, which focuses on creating services and housing options that allow people experiencing homelessness to stabilize and work toward permanent housing.
The site will also be an outreach site for the Providence Community Clinic. Staff from Jewels Helping Hands, the site operator, received training from Providence to support those staying at the facility.
