New industrial park the latest development for Hartford [Video]

HARTFORD, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – As South Dakota’s population continues to grow, more development is finding its way into rural areas of the state.

The city of Hartford has seen consistent growth in recent years and on Thursday, officials celebrated the latest development for the city.

“It’s truly accurate when you say freedom works here in South Dakota when you see small communities like these growing and taking on projects like this,” said Lt. Governor Larry Rhoden.

The 42-acre North Oaks Industrial Park is the latest development opportunity for businesses in the Hartford area.

“We started this conversation almost two years ago as to what we would need to do to get this process going,” said Mayor Arden Jones.

The city of nearly 3,500 people has become a home for new expansion, especially as more land becomes available.
