SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WBTV) – A new hotel is coming to a popular South Carolina beach, with construction expected to start next year.
Surfside Beach Mayor Robert Krouse said a Hampton Inn & Suites will be built along Business 17, next to the Johnny D’s restaurant.
Krouse said the hotel will bring “an attractive development to our town, significant property and A-tax revenues and customers to patronize our businesses in town.”
“The owners told us they chose Surfside Beach because beyond being an excellent destination location, they fondly remembered their own vacation experiences here in past years,” the mayor said.
After ground is broken in 2025, Krouse said the hotel is expected to be completed by Summer 2027.
Once it is built, the hotel will be about a mile and a half from the Surfside Beach pier, and a mile from Ocean Lakes.
