GOODYEAR, AZ (AZFamily) — The city of Goodyear has a new police chief who talked to Arizona’s Family about his plans to keep the public safe.
Brian Issitt, 47, was officially sworn in this week at a Goodyear City Council meeting.
He told us about his experience, public safety in the West Valley, and how he always wanted to be a police officer and follow in the footsteps of his father, who wore the badge for 28 years back in Michigan.
“Just watching my dad in the way that he acted, in the way he lived his life with integrity and honor, and that really had significant impact on my life,” said Issitt.
Issitt spent 22 years with the Phoenix Police Department before becoming the director of the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.
He believes his diverse law enforcement background will help him lead the Goodyear Police Department and its 164 employees.
