GLADEWATER, Texas (KETK) – Gladewater ISD announced the unanimous appointment of current Waskom ISD Superintendent Rae Ann Patty for their superintendent position, to begin in December.

According to district officials, the GISD board of trustees unanimously voted to bring Patty to Gladewater for her extensive experience and leadership.
Patty has been in education for nearly 28 years, serving as assistant principal, principal, curriculum coordinator, assistant superintendent and superintendent, Gladewater ISD said.
“Based on Mrs. Patty’s exceptional track records, it was evident to the board that she is the ideal person to lead GISD into the future,” Board President Chris Thompson said. “Her reputation as a problem-solver, collaborator and leader, combined with her strong ties to East Texas, assures us that she will be warmly embraced by our students, staff, parents and the entire community.”
