New Farmington High School unveiled [Video]

FARMINGTON, CT (WFSB) – The new Farmington High School is opening its doors for the first time Monday.

The community was invited to check out the new multi-million dollar building which had been years in the making.

The gymnasium was filled with current and future students along with their families.

The school’s principal, teachers, Farmington’s superintendent and a number of local officials also came out for the ribbon cutting followed by an open house tour of the new school.

The $145 million project is the largest in the town’s history.

In June 2021, Farmington residents voted to build the new high school on the old high school’s site.

Some design features for the new building include more light and open spaces and areas where students can work collaboratively, which is what some students are most looking forward to.
