CAYCE, S.C. — The City of Cayce announced it has added a new public access point to the Congaree River, allowing an additional put in/take out spot for kayakers and tubers.

The H. Kelley Jones River Access is located along the Three Rivers Greenway, behind H. Kelley Jones Park, at 2616 Riverland Dr.. The park features a fenced playground, covered area and picnic tables with a shaded overlook of the Congaree River.

If tubers and kayakers put in at the West Columbia Amphitheater at the Gervais Street Bridge, the float time to the new access point is between 1.5 to 2 hours, making it an easier, shorter trip for families with younger children.

Cayce Mayor Elise Partin stated that the new access point was a “true family-friendly addition to the Riverland Park community that benefits people across the region that want to enjoy spending time on the Congaree River!”
