CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Three potential sites have been selected for Cincinnati’s new sports and entertainment arena after a six-month feasibility study was conducted by the Cincinnati Regional Chamber and its partners.
According to the study, stakeholders in the region have expressed the need for a new modern stadium, one that would replace Heritage Bank Center – a nearly 50-year-old arena that seats 17,556.
The study – funded by the chamber, Visit Cincy, 3CDC, the Port, Cincinnati Business Committee and Cincinnati Regional Business Committee – analyzed potential locations for a new arena, the cost, stakeholder perspectives and the economic benefits it could bring to the region.
“Our region is missing one key asset: A modern arena. And that asset will tie everything together for the Cincinnati region, allowing us to grow vibrancy and make sure this is a place you can do anything,” said Brendon Cull at Monday’s press conference.
