Nelson has a new Director of Finance and Human Resources [Video]

Nelson County Administrator Candice McGarry recently announced Grace Mawyer is the new director of finance and human resources.

Mawyer officially started her new position on Aug. 26. The director of finance and human resources works with the county administrator on budgeting, financial planning and management, capital project management, and human resource management.

According to a news release, Mawyer has 10 years of experience in governmental finance and accounting, with the majority of that being spent in local government. In the release, McGarry was excited to welcome Mawyer and believes she will do well serving the county.

“McGarry noted that Grace stood out from a list of qualified applicants and emphasized the organization’s fortune in having her extensive institutional knowledge of Nelson County Finance and HR carry forward into a greater role within the organization,” the news release said.
