Fare-Free Bus Pilot

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) launched a fare-free bus pilot program on Sept. 24, 2023 on five routes, one in each borough, for a period of six to 12 months. In The Bronx, Bx18 A/B operates daily from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. in a loop, serving Undercliff Avenue or Sedgwick Avenue, Grand Concourse/East 170th Street, Macombs Road, Tremont Avenue, 168th Street and 170th Street. It serves Morris Heights, Highbridge and Mount Eden neighborhoods and connects to the trains and several other bus routes. Nearby major employers and institutions include Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center and Bronx Community College. See attached flier below about the MTA’s fare-free bus pilot program and click here for more information.
