Neenah Middle and High School both selected as Special Olympic Unified Champion schools [Video]

NEENAH, Wis. (WBAY) – Both Neenah Middle and High School have been recognized as champions of inclusivity and respect.

They were selected as Special Olympic Unified Champion Schools and were recognized at a unified basketball game on Thursday night.

It’s a special honor, with less than 200 out of over 120,000 schools receiving the award, and elementary schools all the way up to universities and colleges are eligible for the honor.

To be eligible for the award, schools must have an inclusive school climate and exude a sense of collaboration, engagement, and respect for all members of the student body and staff.

Neenah High School was previously recognized in 2020, and no other Wisconsin K-12 school has ever received the award.
