MONROE, La. (KNOE) – A Monroe mental health agency and elementary school announced a major partnership Friday (Oct. 11) afternoon.
The Northeast Delta Human Services Authority and Barkdull Faulk Elementary School are joining together so students and their families can see new possibilities for their overall wellness and development.
“We are excited to do prevention education,” said NEDHSA’s director of prevention and wellness Avius Carroll. “We also believe in community and so we’re going to come back and we’re going to work with the community surrounding Barkdull Faulk. We’re going to do health fairs, we’re going to come and do prevention education. We have allocated funds specifically for this school to do a lot work.
The school principal Bakari Beckwith and executive director Monteic Sizer of NEDHSA signed a document called a memorandum of understanding (MOU), which finalizes a deal that the students will now have access to behavioral health, …
