OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A new program at Methodist Hospital is giving staff and patients the opportunity to learn about different medical symptoms or episodes.
It’s all thanks to two manikins that can move, speak and even cry.
Inside the Latacha Education Center you will meet Harry and Sally.
Harry has artificial intelligence capabilities. Because of that, he is able to respond to questions and react to treatment off the cuff.
The $1,000,000 center is named after a Methodist cardiologist: Dr. Matthew Latacha.
“Here at the hospitals, his passions definitely included our patients,” said Josie Abboud, President & CEO Nebraska Methodist Hospital. “Making sure that our staff was educated, understood the why behind everything that we did and always had opportunities to ask questions, to learn.”
Dr. Latacha passed away in Sept. 2023, after being hit and killed by a vehicle north of Valley while riding his bicycle.
