Nebraska AG files lawsuit against social media influencer alleging dropshipping, e-commerce scam [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – The state Attorney General filed a lawsuit against a Nebraska social media influencer alleging participation in dropshipping scams, many of them during the pandemic.

Nebraska AG Mike Hilgers argues that Elizabeth “Liz” Friesen and a company she worked with called WiFi Money were part of various income schemes. The lawsuit filing includes several posts from Friesen’s Instagram account, which refers to her as “Mrs.Nebraska American 2024″ in the bio.

The lawsuit accuses the defendants of being highly misleading, enticing the public to buy automated e-commerce stores. Hilgers says Nebraskans were allegedly tricked with empty promises of money-back guarantees.

The lawsuit alleges that Nebraskans lost $3 million in savings by participating in these scams.
